Happy Solstice, friends!
I have a few exciting pieces of news to share with you today:
First, my piece on Aphrodite Melaenis (Black Aphrodite, Aphrodite of the Night) is now available in Modern Witch Magazine Issue #2. In it, I share some thoughts on Aphrodite that do not conform to the usual stereotypes we might be limiting Her to. I explore Aphrodite as a guide through personal dark spaces as comfort, healer, and creatrix of wisdom. The magazine also has a bunch of other really great articles in it- I cannot wait to dig into my (hard) copy when it arrives. But you can also download an e-copy. Please support this growing resource in our community, and thanks for reading!
Second, I am now blogging over at the Witches & Pagans magazine site, as well as here. My blog there is called "The Witch's Garden," and is a complement to the Witch's Garden classes I teach at my shop, The Sacred Well. I currently have two posts up:
Visionary Medicine, about ocular health and the art of being a visionary
St. John's Eve: Herbs & Lore, about herbal traditions associated with Midsummer.
If you are a budding or experienced magical herbalist who'd like to trade recipes and remedies with others in a down-to-earth Facebook group, join our FB Witch's Garden community. For the love of the herbs, have fun!
May your long day be blessed with a good evening's rest!
